Google Buzz

Today Google added Buzz in gmail.


The core features of Buzz are as follows:
  • You will be able to access Google Buzz through Gmail. A tab in your mailbox allows you for status updates, photos, links and video. 40 people from your Gtalk and Gchat will be added automatically as your friend . If there is any udpate or comment from your friends, you can see it at your inbox. Anybody can Buzz you by using "@" symbol.
  • The picture from Flickr or youTube video will be visible in your Buzz. If you click a Video, it will play online. The pic will show full screen if you click on any pic thumbnail. The pic can also be modified by you. Additionally, You can  get update from Tweeter , but, not from Facebook.
  • Google Buzz will be available at your mobile as a webapps. When looking on Google Mobile Maps, Buzz updates appear directly on the map, so you can read location-based updates. You will also be able to see any update of the Buzz close to your location.
  • Google also considers whether you like or dislike an update and takes a decision whether to show or collapse the updates. Additionally, if there is any discussion outside your group, Google may recommend it to you as a feed to participate in the discussion.
  • You have a choice to make your update as public or private. Private update will be visible only in your group of Buzz followers. Public update will be posted at Google Profile page and Google Search Engine is going to index it.

Offline GMail

On 27th Jan 2009 GMail team launched the Offline version of GMail.
This is soon available for everyone who uses US and UK English.
For using this follow below steps.

1.Login to GMail
2.Go to Labs Tab in Settings
3.Enable the Offline GMail (If not visible it should be there soon.)
4.Save your settings.

After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline0.1" link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

Access GMail even if it is blocked

If u search on the internet you will get lot of tricks regarding this
but many of them related to using proxy sites
Here is the trick which will not require proxy site. :)

1.Log on to Google
2.Go to iGoogle screen
3.Add GMail gadget developed by google
4.Select Gmail in your igoogle screen

It looks like this..

By using igoogle Gmail gadget you can Read,Compose,Delete the mails also you can see mails from trash and Report mail as spam.

Send SMS from GMail.

Yesterday gmail team introduced new Lab feature in GMail.
With this feature you can send sms from your gmail to any mobile phone.
Currently, this feature is limited to US mobiles only but you can send sms from anywhere in the world to US mobile nos.
To use this feature follow below steps:
1.Login to GMail
2.Go for Setting page->Labs
You will find below screen


Just Enable Text Messaging (SMS) in chat.
3.Got to chat and you will find Send SMS link
